How Results Work

A plain-language tour of what is actually happening under the hood when you take a Selvora quiz, tarot reading, or zodiac check.

Where scoring happens

All scoring for Selvora quizzes runs in your browser. We do not send your individual answers, your birth date inputs, or your tarot card selections to our servers. After you pick an answer, the tally updates locally and advances you to the next question.

How multiple-choice quizzes score

Most Selvora quizzes are archetype quizzes โ€” the goal is to match your pattern of answers to one of a small set of result types. For each question, each answer option carries small weights toward one or more result types. Once you finish the quiz, the weights are totalled, and the result with the highest score is shown.

Why two people with similar answers can get different results

Because no single answer maps to only one type. A single question typically spreads weight across several types so that one unusual pick does not flip the entire result. Two people whose pattern matches strongly on eight of ten questions usually land on the same result; two people who split on the decisive two or three questions may land on adjacent types.

IQ-style quizzes

Our IQ quiz is a gamified score quiz, not an archetype quiz. Each question has a correct answer that contributes to a points total, and score ranges map to result bands. The bands are entertainment categories, not IQ scores in the clinical sense. They do not compare meaningfully to WAIS or Stanfordโ€“Binet.

Tarot readings

Tarot readings use a random shuffle of the Major Arcana deck in your browser, delivered through a standard pseudo-random generator. The cards you are shown are the cards your click landed on; there is no behind-the-scenes choice on our side. The interpretations attached to each card are written from traditional upright and reversed meanings of the Major Arcana, adapted into plain reflective language.

Zodiac and astrology features

Our sun-sign features ask you for a birth month and day in order to determine a sun sign using the standard date boundaries of the twelve signs. That determination happens entirely in your browser; the date is not stored or forwarded. The readings attached to each sign draw from traditional associations (element, mode, archetype) and are written as reflective content, not as forecasts.

Retakes and result stability

If you retake a quiz a few hours apart, you may get a slightly different result, especially on questions where you sat on the border of two options. This is expected, not a bug. Well-constructed quizzes are often more informative when you notice the cluster of possible results you keep landing in, rather than insisting on a single definitive answer.

What our results cannot do

The calculation we have described is honest about its limits. The results produced by Selvora quizzes:

  • Do not diagnose mental health conditions.
  • Do not measure IQ in the clinical sense.
  • Do not predict the outcome of future events.
  • Do not replace a conversation with a licensed professional.
